Winter can be a tough time for families with young kids. The holidays are over, and the weather is cold and dreary. But it doesn't have to be all doom and gloom. Winter Wonderland at the San Diego Zoo- The San Diego Zoo is a great place to spend a winter day. The zoo offers a variety of activities for families with young kids, including a petting zoo, a nature center, and a playground. Not to mention PANDAS!
A short 3-4 day cruise to the Caribbean- A cruise is a great way to escape the cold weather and enjoy some time in the sun. There are plenty of activities for families with young kids on a cruise ship, including swimming pools, water slides, and kids' clubs. If you a days drive or less from the coast this is a great and cost effective way to leave your snow covered street and put your feet in the sand.


Hit the ski slopes- Skiing is a great way to spend a winter day. Not only is it a lot of fun, but it's also a great workout. And, if you're lucky, you might even be able to get some skiing in on a sunny day. Don't worry there are classes for the kids (and adults) who need a little support.
A short getaway to Florida- Florida is a great place to escape the cold weather. The state has plenty of beaches and attractions that are perfect for families with young kids. Plus between New Years and Spring Break there are a lot of deals for travel!
The Town next door- If you're looking for a winter getaway that's close to home, consider the town next door. There are usually plenty of things to do, and it can be a great way to meet new people. This can also be a cost effective way to get out of the house and experience something new!
